Empowerment Services

Blackpool Advocacy Hub

We support adults, children, and young people locally to ensure that their rights and needs are understood and respected in decisions that affect their lives.

Lived Experience Team

We are a team of local people who have lived experience. We use our experience to support local people, change lives and support positive system change in Blackpool.

Healthwatch Blackpool

Healthwatch Blackpool is part of a network of over 150 local Healthwatch across the country. We’re here to hear your experiences of using local health and social care services.

The Den

The Children’s IDVA service offers specialist emotional and practical support to children and young people affected by domestic abuse.

Solace

We support families, friends, and the wider community affected by suicide and mental health challenges. We offer a single point of access system to collaborate with local services and resources, ensuring those in need receive the support and care they deserve.

The Baton of Hope

The Baton of Hope is a national tour aiming to ‘Stand Up to Suicide’. Blackpool will host the opening day of the 2025 UK Tour, lead by Sam Southern, our Solace Manager.

We will proudly walk the Baton through the streets of Blackpool, raising vital awareness and spreading Hope across our town. 

Empowerment Projects

Elliot's Place

Elliot’s Place is a new and innovative project aimed at helping young men struggling with their mental ill health and is here to support Blackpool men aged 18+.

The Dads Place

We are a dedicated group for fathers navigating the journey of parenthood. We strive to empower dads to build relationships with peers, whilst offering support for those who may have anxiety, stress, and mental health challenges.

Blackpool Autism Partnership

The Blackpool Autism Partnership is a group of people coming together to deliver the statutory guidance around the Autism Act (2009) with the aim of improving the lives of autistic people and their families/carers in Blackpool.

Motivate2

Motivate2 empowers people with personal experience of mental health and/or complex needs and giving them the opportunity to use their knowledge to advocate for other people accessing the advocacy services.

PANDA

We are empowering people with personal experience of neurodivergent discrimination and inaccessibility, which gives them the opportunities to use their knowledge to advocate for other people accessing the PANDA service.

Poverty Truth Commission

The Blackpool Poverty Truth Commission is a team of local people, sharing life in Blackpool and raising issues with the leaders of the town. Our motto is “Nothing About Us, Without Us, is For Us!“

Ukranian Support

Homes for Ukraine Scheme
Blackpool Council is coordinating the Homes for Ukraine scheme in Blackpool. Empowerment Charity, HomeStart and The Volunteer Centre are supporting guests and hosts in the area through dedicated support.
