The Den - Domestic Abuse
Specialist support for children and young people affected by Domestic Abuse
We provide a safe, confidential space to help children and young people to understand their experiences and take steps toward a safer future.
Most important of all is making happy childhood memories, having fun and finding new friends.
The Den provides specialist, trauma-informed support to children and young people aged 3 years and above affected by domestic abuse.
Working within schools and community settings, our dedicated team of Children’s Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (Children’s IDVAs) ensure that children’s voices are heard, their experiences are validated, and they are supported to feel safe and understand healthy relationships.
Through shared experiences and new friendships, we help children connect with others their own age, build confidence, discover new opportunities and experience the world beyond their everyday challenges.
With over 16 years of experience, The Den works closely with partners, including the Police and Crime Commissioner, local education settings and social care to break the cycle of abuse, giving children space to heal and thrive.

1:1 Sessions
A safe space for children and young people to explore their emotions and experiences. For example safety planning, creative exploration, advice and guidance.

Trips & Activities
School holiday trips and activies to provide a wider sense of the world, have fun and make new friends.
Campaign work
We support children and young people to speak out against hurtful behaviour and help build a world where everyone is treated with kindness and respect.
