‘Gambling related harms’ may feel like a new term to many of us, but for lots of people in our community, gambling is creating harm and huge challenges every day.
This report brings together lots of research and learning about the critical importance of a coordinated way of tackling gambling harm in Blackpool. Making sure that different organisations and support services are working together is a key takeaway, alongside prevention, early help, education and regulation.
We’re keen to hear more from people affected by their own or someone else’s gambling…we’re here to support, to listen and to help find a positive way forward.
Here are just a few voices that we heard from in our research;
“My brother would steal to gamble from an early age and has now lost everything.”
“My friends partner used to sell the children’s possessions to fund his gambling habit.”
