Empowerment’s mission to ‘work with passion alongside local people to tackle social isolation and loneliness’ has never been more important to us than today in the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. With Government guidelines advising us to keep a ‘social distance’ and NHS advising ‘self isolation’ it is a time when we need to stay connected in as many ways as possible.

Nicola Plumb (manager of Empowerment’s Lived Experience and Peer4U team) comments:

“If you are currently in recovery and are having to self-isolate this can add pressure to an already challenging situation. Myself and my team know and understand the challenges you may be facing as a Blackpool resident. We are trying to keep the people we support connected to as many services as possible at this time.”
